Supply Teacher Conferenceby Sandra Taylor
Teacher Support Cymru ran a training session this week helping supply teachers to identify causes of stress and to develop a toolkit to manage it. "It is not easy for supply teachers to get together as they can be limited by the short notice of job opportunities" said Sandra Taylor, Development Manager for Teacher Support Cymru. "The session allowed attendees to focus on the unique challenges and pressures facing them while giving everyone an opportunity to be positive about the reasons why they are supply teachers" The day, which was held at the first conference run jointly by Careers Wales West, Swansea Metropolitan University and New Directions, included a presentation on the 'Day in the life of a supply teacher' and a behaviour management workshop.
