Curriculum Changes AnnouncedResearch shows rapid changes cause stress in the workplaceBy Garfield Myrie : 10 June 2010
The news that the proposed flagship primary curriculum is to be scrapped highlights how rapidly the education sector can change and how quickly teachers have to adapt to new priorities.
We know from our research that the rapid changes affecting the sector may raise concerns about working conditions, changes in daily duties and prospects for progression, all of which may have a negative effect on the health and wellbeing of teachers. Different people will respond in different ways to workplace change, resulting in a range of mixed emotions, one of which may be insecurity. Teacher Support Network provides a range of support services designed to help teachers deal with the rapid pace of change in schools. If you’d like some extra support our trained advisors are available to take your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week free and in confidence on: 08000 562 561
