Kick back and relax with Teacher Support NetworkSchool may be out for summer, but TSN is here for support7 August 2008
It may be hard to tell when looking at the grey skies and wet roads
through the window but the school summer holidays are almost with us.
After three long terms of learning, pupils are for a few sacred weeks the responsibility of their parents - leaving their teachers able to find more time for themselves: time dedicated to their own health, hobbies, friends or families. The UK may not have the climate to guarantee six weeks of unadulterated sunbathing, but those of us who work in the classroom do at least have some time now to dedicate to themselves. After the long slog of the school year, this is the time to make sure that you dedicate enough time to your own wellbeing. Although if is of course important to look after yourself throughout the year, the summer holidays present the best opportunity for you to take recharge your batteries, forget about the stresses of school and focus on yourself. The summer break may not be infinitely long - and you may have plenty to do before the new school year - but over the next few weeks why not try to take into consideration the advice from the factsheets available in our online InfoCentre. Make the most of the holiday and re-energise yourself ready for the start of the new academic year with ‘a new year, a new start'. Find out about the work-life balance and how to achieve it. How about a new sporty hobby, find out how to manage your health through physical activity - or find how about something simple like the benefits of walking. Most of all, take time to relax and unwind! We will be sending out fortnightly newsletters over the summer break and the normal weekly service will start again in the new term. Don't forget we are here throughout the summer so don't let any worries ruin the break, contact us by phone on 08000 562 561, ask us a question here or take a look at our InfoCentre here. |
