Online survey for teachers: schools role in promoting sport, play and physical activityGive your thoughts on draft recommendations to encourage play in schoolBy Sally Baker : 4 September 2008
The National Centre for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) wishes to test (on behalf of the Department for Health) draft recommendations on the promotion in school and community settings of physical activity, play and sport for pre-school and school age children with professionals in the education sector. The recommendations are for children and young people up to the age of 18 years, with a specific focus on those aged seven and under, girls aged 11 to 18 and their families. These recommendations are intended to guide policy and practice in education as well as other sectors, such as the NHS. We are looking for Primary and Secondary schoo/PE teachers, PHSE co-ordinators and head teachers and any other teachers with a role in promoting sport, play or physical activity to complete a short on-line survey.
