Sign writers in America have been left red faced after misspelling the word 'school' on a road in North Carolina.

While marking out school zones on the recently repaved road the crew painted the word 'school'. A spokesperson for the company responsible for the mistake said it had "made a mistake" and it would be fixed, the BBC Website reports.
