About Teacher Support Network

Our vision, aims and values

Teacher Support Network

Teacher Support Network consists of a group of independent charities and a social enterprise in the United Kingdom and the United States. We provide practical and emotional support to staff in the education sector and their families. We aim to help teachers and their families regardless of age, length of service or union affiliations to improve wellbeing, quality of life and career effectiveness.

Our services are open to trainees, newly qualified teachers, serving teachers, headteachers, staff in the adult, further and higher education sectors and retired professionals. Our areas of expertise include finance, housing, care issues, health, wellbeing at work and career development.

Our vision is for all teachers and lecturers to have access to practical and emotional support to improve their wellbeing, professional effectiveness and personal fulfilment.

We aim to do this by:

  • Listening and responding to the changing needs of the teaching profession
  • Empowering teachers and lecturers to deal effectively with personal problems
  • Enabling teachers to cope with professional pressure
  • Offering individually-tailored support to teaching professionals and their families

The values we believe in:

  • Teachers and lecturers play a vital role in our society
  • Children and adults need teachers and lecturers who are supported and recognised for the important job that they do
  • All people should be treated fairly and with respect
  • We are committed to equal opportunities and the personal development of teachers.
